An Indonesian woman gave birth to a baby boy, the biggest baby ever born, with 19.2-pound (8.7Kg) and
24.4 inches (62 cm), via c-section at a public hospital in North Sumatra on Monday (September 21).
“He’s got strong appetite, every minute, it’s almost non-stop feeding,” Dr. Binsar Sitanggang said. “This
baby boy is extraordinary, the way he’s crying is not like a usual baby. It’s really loud.”
The big baby might be a result of his 41 year-old mother’s diabetes. When a diabetic mother’s glucose level
is high during pregnancy, the baby can receive too much glucose and grow too large, according to the
American College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
